SYNOPSIS:
A stationary statue in the heart of Sittard brings a forgotten story to life.
"Zefke" is a poetic, two-minute documentary about a man who was once seen as an oddball, but ultimately became a symbol of solidarity.
Zefke Mols was a homeless man who was wrongly imprisoned for seven years for murder. When he was released, he had nothing left: no home, no place to return. But the people of Sittard welcomed him, cared for him, and it felt as if he had never left.
His statue is more than just stone—it's a reminder of a time when no one was left alone. This documentary calls for solidarity and care for one another, especially in a world where those values are in danger of fading.
